A transport simulation, rooted in real places

A real place.
A world to move.

The roads you know. The company you build. Turn a small corner of the world into a growing transport network.

FROM THE CURRENT UNITY BUILD

Every road is
a decision.

Three places, different possibilities: a base in Butzbach, Frankfurt’s skyline and airport, and Hamburg harbour. These are bounded development demos captured on 30 October 2026; newer gateway and rail features are described below and await their own captures.

YOUR NEXT LOAD. YOUR NEXT DECISION.

Build a network.
Find your rhythm.

  1. 01

    Establish a base

Begin with a small region, a depot and a budget. Put your first vehicles to work.

  2. 02

    Connect the chain

Move grain to a factory and food to a market. Share vehicle capacity between repeating routes and parallel missions.

  3. 03

    Reinvest with purpose

Earn money and research points, develop facilities, build rail and gateway links, and purchase adjacent land. Endless play leaves the next move to you.

WHAT IS IN THE GAME TODAY

Features, labelled
by their real state.

Every item carries the status it has in the current development candidate. “Awaiting live verification” means the code and tests exist, but the feature has not yet been proven in a real Steam session or on dedicated hardware.

  • In development

    Start in a real place

Pick a German town or postcode and begin on its actual OpenStreetMap roads. The current builds start in fixed Butzbach, Frankfurt and Hamburg demos; a public selector over verified cached map packs is the next step.

  • Implemented

    Road logistics

Vans and trucks on mapped roads with traffic queues and signals. Persistent grain-to-food supply routes with finite stock, parallel missions and purchasable neighbouring land.

  • Implemented

    Research

Research unlocks capabilities and visible depot upgrades instead of raw stat boosts. Two-column research cards stay readable from 16:9 to 32:9.

  • Implemented · awaiting live verification

    Player-built rail

Place terminals and track, run trains between them and hand cargo over truck–rail–truck. Rail automation is researched, not given.

  • Implemented · awaiting live verification

    Air and sea gateways

Finite air and sea corridors move cargo to destinations beyond your map. Gateway turnaround is manual until the matching manager is researched.

  • Implemented

    Manual operations and managers

Depot, terminal and gateway tasks start as hands-on work; researched managers take over planning. A physical workforce with breaks and recovery facilities is designed but not yet implemented.

  • Implemented

    Ultrawide and UHD layout

Full-width world view with a compact HUD held inside a centred 16:9 span. Graphically reviewed at six resolutions from 3840×1080 to 5120×2160 on 30 October 2026; hardware performance qualification continues.

  • Implemented · awaiting live verification

    Online co-op

Separate companies in one shared region through friends-only Steam lobbies with host-owned time and saves. A real two-account session on separate networks is still outstanding.

  • Private · unreleased

    Steam Playtest

A Windows build is uploaded to a private Steam Playtest. It is not playable by the public, no keys have been issued, and the main store page is unreleased.

  • Planned · private backend pilot

    Companion dashboard

A plain web dashboard for watching and nudging your company from a phone. A small private backend pilot is deployed; pairing, live view and remote actions are not built yet.

  • Implemented

    Original soundtrack

Three relaxed instrumental pieces, outcome cues and bounded engine voices, all generated in-house with no third-party samples. Native listening review remains open.

STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS · AWAITING LIVE VERIFICATION

Milestones worth
taking a detour for.

Twelve optional goals celebrate what you build: your first delivery, a functioning supply chain, new research and a growing region. Evidence tracking and the Steam adapter are implemented; the first real unlock on Steam is still outstanding. No daily login streaks.

DEVELOPMENT, IN THE OPEN

Here today.
Where we’re heading.

ecotrasim is still in development. These screenshots show the native game; the lists below separate what the current candidate contains from the work that remains.

IN THE CURRENT CANDIDATE

The network starts here.

  • Real-map road demos in Butzbach, Frankfurt and Hamburg with purchasable neighbouring land
  • Road vehicles, fleet markers, traffic signals and persistent grain → food routes
  • Research, evolving depot facilities and vehicle retirement
  • Player-built rail and air/sea gateway corridors (awaiting live verification)
  • Ultrawide HUD layout reviewed at six resolutions; original soundtrack
  • Private Windows Steam Playtest upload with verified depot integrity

NEXT / STILL TO VERIFY

More ways to connect.

  • Online Steam co-op: implemented; live multiplayer verification remains
  • Public German town or postcode start over verified cached map packs
  • First real Steam achievement unlock, then all twelve
  • Physical workforce with breaks, sleep and recovery facilities
  • Last-mile hubs, further goods and production chains
  • Companion dashboard pairing and optional reduced-speed away progression

Native macOS and Windows x64 development builds compile and pass the automated review. The Windows build is uploaded to a private Steam Playtest; Windows hardware play, Linux and Steam Deck remain unverified. No release date or price has been announced.

BEFORE YOU SET OFF

A few good questions.

Can I play ecotrasim now?

Not yet. A Windows build exists in a private Steam Playtest that is not open to the public and has issued no keys. There is no public download. This page shows actual development captures and the planned direction.

Is the map based on real places?

Yes. The demos use OpenStreetMap geometry for Butzbach, Frankfurt city, Frankfurt airport and Hamburg harbour. Gameplay facilities and company names are fictional. ecotrasim is a game, not a navigation tool.

Can I start in my own town?

Starting from a German town or postcode is in development. The current demos have fixed starts in Butzbach, Frankfurt and Hamburg, each within 3 × 3 km; the wider views use purchased neighbouring land. A public location selector is planned.

Are rail, air and sea transport playable?

Player-built rail and finite air and sea gateway corridors are implemented in the current candidate with tests, but they have not been proven in a live Steam session yet. The gallery captures predate them and show airport and harbour scenery only.

Will there be online multiplayer?

Online co-op is implemented around separate companies in a shared region. Steam invitations, synchronized play and reconnecting still need a real two-account test on separate networks before a public playtest.

Can my company keep running while I’m away?

An optional reduced-speed mode and a paired browser companion are planned, and a small private backend pilot exists. Phone actions while the PC is off need that persistent service; these features are not implemented yet.

Does the game support ultrawide monitors?

Yes. The world view fills the screen while controls stay inside a centred 16:9 span. The layout was graphically reviewed at 3840×2160, 3440×1440, 3840×1600, 5120×2160, 3840×1080 and 5120×1440. Frame-rate qualification on dedicated hardware is separate and ongoing.

Are the artwork and screenshots the same thing?

No. The promotional illustration communicates the visual direction. Every image in the gameplay gallery is a real Unity development capture, with its interface intact. The press kit keeps the two categories separate.
